SPRING 2008- THE PRODUCE PATCH
The Produce Patch is a handy place to browse for fresh produce, sliced meats and artisan cheeses, seasonal treats, fresh-cut flowers, organics, and more. Swing by for a grab-and-go snack, gift for a friend, or the perfect ingredients for a sunny picnic on a hot spring day!
The Produce Patch has sprouted up at Plaza on the Side, OceanView Terrace, and Café Ventanas.
RED ALERT! GRADUATION AND MOVING OUT
Please remember that the US Open golf tournament is being held at Torrey Pines during the end of finals in June. As one of the largest golf events in the world, accommodations and move-out will definitely be impacted... authorities estimate a large increase in traffic, with an additional 50,000 visitors to the area during the week. Please keep this in mind when you’re making plans to move-out this summer. Thank you!
DINING SERVICES
Introducing DS Drive-Thru! From just-made burritos to pre-wrapped deli sandwiches and wraps, take-out has never been so easy (or so delicious). "Drive-Thru" your local DS eatery today!
This year we are also thrilled to introduce Becky McDivitt, our expert Dietitian! She will be circulating throughout the campus and DS units during her new program, RD in da House, or you can see what she's up to by visiting the Nutrition Page.

SS has partnered with a green campus group to start a composting / sustainability study project.

CUSTODIAL
Housing and Custodial Operations have completed a conversion to Green Cleaning Solutions for use in student residence halls and apartments. The brand we're using is Butcher's, and the benefits are multiple! Not only are these products in line with our sustainability goals, but they also provide a healthier environment for students and the staff who use them on a daily basis.
DINING ADMINISTRATION AND TRITON CASH
The Dining Plan Administration Office and Triton Cash offices have moved! The offices are now located above Cafe Ventanas on Eleanor Roosevelt College. You can also reach them online.
SIXTH COLLEGE
There is new flooring in the Lodge; the carpet has been replaced with Forbo, a high quality, resilient linoleum that is Eco-friendly, easy to clean, and has an expected life span of 40 years.
WARREN COLLEGE
We're finishing the minor renovation project at the Warren Res Halls; new outdoor furniture will be installed as well as items such as furniture and lighting.
MUIR COLLEGE
Tenaya Hall, located on Muir College, underwent extensive interior renovation and remodeling this summer, including complete interior painting, all new flooring, suite lounge furniture, house lounge furniture, new bathroom fixtures, and plumbing.
The Muir Annex building has been renovated and will house the HDH Lock & Key Team. The office got new carpet, paint, electrical, plumbing and furniture. This new space will also host departmental trainings and meetings.
CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS 2007/2008
In August 2007, the $119 million North Campus / Transfer Student Housing site north of ERC started the first phase of construction. Due to open in fall 2009, the new facility will provide 1,000 beds for transfer students.
A new Administration and Catering Bldg will be going in at Revelle College near Plaza Café. Slated to begin in 2008, the work will result in a small loss of recreational grass area, as well as site grading, heavy equipment, underground utilities, material deliveries, foundation preparation, and concrete form work. |
OLE! THE ONLINE EXPERIENCE
Ole! the online experience from Earl's Place, now has single sign-on access, so that students don't need a separate user name and password to log on and place their orders for groceries and sundries. With this new feature, all you need is your campus P.I.D and PAC, and you're in!
